CompTIA A+ Certification Exams

You must pass two exams to become A+ certified. The current exam versions were released in 2012:

  • CompTIA A+ Certification Essentials (exam # 220-801)
  • CompTIA A+ Certification Practical Application (exam # 220-802)

Previous iterations of the A+ exam [700-series] were retired in August 2013 (released 2009):

A+ Exam Format: Multiple choice and Performance-based questions
Duration: The time-limit for each A+ exam is 90 minutes.
Length: Exams 220-801 and 220-802 contain 90 questions apiece.
Exam Cost: A+ test vouchers cost $147 USD for CompTIA members or $173 USD for civilians.
Passing Grade: 675 out of 900 for A+ Essentials | 700 out of 900 for the Practical Application
